As part of its Arts and Humanities program, The Foundation of 荔枝视频 is hosting a living history experience to celebrate America鈥檚 250th anniversary.
鈥淪tep into 1776鈥� will be held on Friday, July 3, in Downtown Goldsboro. Historical reenactors from across North Carolina will join the celebration and interact with the community throughout the day.
From 2鈥�5 p.m., attendees can participate in free immersive experiences. Activities include hourly cannon and musket demonstrations at The Hub, a ladies鈥� colonial craft experience and dress ensemble demonstration at the Terrace Room, a Revolutionary-era medical display at the Acme Theatre, and more.
Beginning at 5:15 p.m., the ticketed portion of the event will be held in the Paramount Theatre. This includes 鈥淭aste the Revolution,鈥� where guests will enjoy colonial-inspired refreshments; a reading from the Declaration of Independence at 5:45 p.m.; and a screening of the musical film 鈥�1776鈥� at 6 p.m.
Tickets to attend 鈥淭aste the Revolution鈥� and the screening of 鈥�1776鈥� are $10 for the general public and $5 for children and military. Contact the Paramount Theatre at 919-583-8432 to purchase tickets.
